Approaches to Reduce Nutrient Loadings for Harmful Algal Blooms Management
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is funding $6,487,188 to seven institutions to research how to prevent and control HABs using current and new technologies. Researchers will determine the effectiveness of existing nutrient treatment technologies, evaluate the scale-up of emerging nutrient treatment technologies and develop new technologies, and develop best management practices to help both rural and urban communities control nutrients in their watersheds.
