National Priorities: Transdisciplinary Research into Detecting and Controlling Lead in Drinking Water
EPA awarded grants to two universities to create a consumer-centric framework to detect and control lead in drinking water that complements the utility-centric framework embodied in the Lead and Copper Rule. The project leverages citizen participation in data collection to develop predictive models that identify areas of vulnerability to high levels of lead in water and empower consumers with interventions to control risk.
