Description:
This project proposes to:
- engineer a tissue to mimic liver behavior (a so-called 3-Dimensional or 3D liver model);
- simulate liver toxicity by exposing the 3D liver model to two known toxicants ( carbon tetrachloride and 1,2 dichloroethylene); and
- use gene microarrays and computational modeling to discover and elucidate biological pathways perturbed by each toxicant singly and in combination.
