Presentation | On November 16, we introduced the project to the greater public with the AIRBEAT Public/ Press Event. We sent 200 invitations and distributed 400 flyers in the community. More than 75 community, government, youth, and other supporters attended. The event was covered by The Boston Globe (front page metro section), People's Voice, Dorchester Community News, Channel 4 WBZ news (11/17/99), and Neighborhood Network News (interview by Klare Allen and Penn Loh on 11/19/99). EPA Regional Administrator John DeVillars, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA-DEP) Deputy Commissioner Ed Kunce, Boston Transportation Commissioner Andrea D'Amato, John Auerbach (Director of Boston Public Health Commission), City Councilor Mickey Roache, and City Councilor-Elect Charles Turner attended, along with members of the community. We also designed and distributed a fact sheet, posters, and flyers. |
