A Forested Canopy (right!)

Because no trees have been removed, the stream remains sheltered from much of the bright sunlight and is less likely to become unsuitably warm for its resident trout and other cold water biota.

Stream with overhanging forest canopy, effectively shading the stream to moderate water temperature.
