EPA announced the release of the IRIS Program Outlook Update on the IRIS website which includes updates to the list of IRIS Assessments that are currently in development.

EPA announced the release of the final report, Enhanced Aquifer Recharge of Stormwater in the United States: State of the Science Review. This report is a summary and synthesis of scientific and technical literature on enhanced aquifer recharge (EAR) using stormwater. It is based on a search and screening of published literature conducted during summer and fall of 2020.

EPA announced the release of the final report, Advancing Pb Exposure and Biokinetic Modeling for U.S. EPA Regulatory Decisions and Site Assessments Using Bunker Hill Mining and Metallurgical Complex Superfund Site Data. This report documents the performance evaluation of the Integrated Exposure Uptake Biokinetic (IEUBK) Model for Lead in Children (version v2.0) as it would be typically applied at Superfund sites to predict blood lead levels (BLLs) in populations of children.

EPA announced the release of the draft document, Systematic Review Protocol for the Methylmercury (MeHg) IRIS Assessment (Preliminary Assessment Materials), for a 45-day public review and comment period. The public comment period for the protocol closed on July 13, 2020. [Federal Register Notice May 28, 2020]

EPA announced the release of the draft document, Systematic Review Protocol for the Vanadium and Compounds (Oral Exposure) IRIS Assessment (Preliminary Assessment Materials), for a 30-day public review and comment period. The public comment period for the protocol closed on May 26, 2021. [Federal Register Notice April 26, 2020]

EPA announced the release of the IRIS Program Outlook Update on the IRIS website which includes updates to the list of IRIS Assessments that are currently in development. The IRIS assessment of formaldehyde (inhalation) suspended in April 2019 has recently been unsuspended. The IRIS Program is evaluating the assessment milestones and will post an updated timeline in the June 2021 IRIS Program Outlook update. The IRIS Program also updated activities completed since the February 2021 Outlook with this interim update.
