Many boulders in the channel (right!)

In rocky, forested streams, partly submerged boulders are the primary structural material creating habitat for fish and stream invertebrates. This stream has a natural abundance of boulders and good habitat. Plus, boulders help stream flow scoop small pools in the stream bed for even better fish habitat.
