ARSENIC REMOVAL COST ESTIMATING PROGRAM

Citation:

Battelle. ARSENIC REMOVAL COST ESTIMATING PROGRAM. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, EPA/600/C-03/079, 2003.

Description:

The Arsenic Removal Cost Estimating program (Excel) calculates the costs for using adsorptive media and anion exchange treatment systems to remove arsenic from drinking water. The program is an easy-to-use tool to estimate capital and operating costs for three types of arsenic removal systems; (1) adsorptive media with media regeneration and pH adjustment; (2) adsorptive media without media regeneration and optional pH adjustment; and, (3) anion exchange. The program is intended for use by personnel in the regulatory community, environmental consulting business and small water utilities. Because the program was designed for small systems, it is limited for design flow of 1,000 to 5000,000 gallons per day. An unpublished written report describing the program and its use has been prepared to support the program. To request a copy of this Program contact the Project Officer.
