Anon. ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION, TEST REPORT OF MOBILE SOURCE EMISSIONS CONTROL DEVICES: CLEAN DIESEL TECHNOLOGIES FUEL-BORNE CATALYST WITH MITSUI/PUREARTH CATALYZED WIRE MESH FILTER. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, EPA/600/R-04/153, 2004.

Description:

The Environmental Technology Verification report discusses the technology and performance of the Fuel-Borne Catalyst with Mitsui/PUREarth Catalyzed Wire Mesh Filter manufactured by Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. The technology is a platinum/cerium fuel-borne catalyst in commercial ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel with a lightly catalyzed wire mesh filter manufactured by Mitsui/PUREarth. The test was the Highway Transient Federal Test Procedure, heavy duty cycle, on an 8.3 L, 275 bhp Cummins Engine Company diesel engine. The mean emissions reductions in particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide were 76% (including the combined effect of the control technology and change in fuel sulfur level from low sulfur to ULSD fuel), 8.4%, 88%, and 58%, respectively, relative to baseline emissions for the aged Cummins engine.
