COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF ELISAS FOR DETECTING VITELLOGENIN IN THE FATHEAD MINNOW (PIMEPHALES PROMELAS)- A RESPONSE TO TYLER ET AL

Citation:

Korte, J J., E. Mylchreest, AND G T. Ankley. COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF ELISAS FOR DETECTING VITELLOGENIN IN THE FATHEAD MINNOW (PIMEPHALES PROMELAS)- A RESPONSE TO TYLER ET AL. COMPARATIVE BIOCHEMISTRY AND PHYSIOLOGY - PART C: TOXICOLOGY & PHARMACOLOGY.

Impact/Purpose:

To respond to a letter to the editor

Description:

Measurement of vitellogenin (VTG) in fish is rapidly moving from being an endpoint of concern mostly to reproductive physiology/endocrinology, to an endpoint on which international regulatory decision-making could well be based. Changes in VTG are of particular utility for the identification of environmental estrogens. . .. In response to the Mylchreest et al. paper, Tyler et al recently sent a critical letter to the journal in which the paper had been published.
