Description:

The objective of this presentation is to describe research activities with USDPA's NRMRL Prevaporation Team pertaining to industrial waste. The presentation will provide a brief introduction to pervaporation technology theory and applications. Pervaporation is a membrane separation technology that shows great potential for removal and recovery of organics from water. The presentation will then center on a discussion of pervaporation team activities. One of the projects to be discussed is the development of Pervaporation, Performance, Prediction Software and Database (PPS&D)computer software program. The purpose of PPPS&D program is to educate and assist potential users in identifying opportunities for using pervaporation technology through the use of tutorials, engineering simulation programs and pervaporation technology performance databases. The PPS&D computer software program utilizes Clarion 5TM software, a "Windows" style application software that accesses information using "click-on" buttons in a user friendly format.
