The objective of the Occurrence and Monitoring Document is to support the final Ground Water Rule
Description:
The Occurrence and Monitoring Document presents information related to the occurrence of the fecal indicators (e.g., E. coli, enterococci and coliphage) which ground water systems will be required to monitor under the final Ground Water Rule (GWR). In addition, the document discusses the public health risk of microbial contaminants in the ground water, outbreaks, sources of fecal contamination, fate and transport, and monitoring methods that are used to detect the microbial contaminants.
