NATIONAL-SCALE ASSESSMENT OF AIR TOXICS RISKS - 1999 NATIONAL SCALE AIR TOXICS ASSESSMENT

Citation:

Impact/Purpose:

Based on 1999 data, this assessment will provide an updated version of thebroad-scale understanding of inhalation risks for a subset of atmospherically-emitted air toxics to inform further data-gathering efforts and priority-setting for the EPA's Air Toxics Programs.

Description:

The national-scale assessment of air toxics risks is a modeling assessment which combines emission inventory development, atmospheric fate and transport modeling, exposure modeling, and risk assessment to characterize the risk associated with inhaling air toxics from outdoor sources. This national-scale effort is a repeat of the 1996 assessment to track trends and inform program development.
