Impact/Purpose:

The objective is to improve the existing model used by the EPA to evaluate atmospheric releases of radiation. EPA proposes to use the improved model for evaluating atmospheric releases of raidonuclides from nuclear facilities. The Agency will use this computer model for conducting radiation exposure and risk assessments. This model is an adaptation of the GENII Environmental Radiation Dosimetry System (Napier et al. 1988; Leigh et al. 1993).

Description:

The GENII System provides a state-of-the-art, fully documented set of programs for calculating radiation dose and risk from radionuclides released to the environment. The GENII-NESHAPs Edition can be utilized for assessing compliance with 40 CFR 61, Subparts H and I.
