Description:

EPA has developed a technology transfer handbook for the EMPACT Roxbury Air Monitoring (AirBeat) Project. The purpose of AirBeat is to make real-time air quality monitoring information (for ozone, black carbon, and fine particulates) available to the Boston MA community of Roxbury in a format that is useable and easy to understand. The AirBeat technology transfer handbook provides a case study of the AirBeat project and contains suggestions and recommendations that can be used to design, employ and maintain air quality monitoring, data management and delivery, and communication and outreach systems comparable to that employed for the AirBeat Project. The handbook will also provide lessons-learned and success stories associated with the development of these systems.
