Description:
A workshop on biodegradation of methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE) contaminated soils and groundwater was held in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 1-2, 2000, and was sponsored by the USEPA's NRMRL and the American Petroleum Institute. Researchers in academia, industry, and government were invited to attend and present current research. The goals of the workshop were: 1) gain and understand the types of MTBE research that various organizations are conducting and the conclusion of this research is generating, 2) identify the remaining research needs on MTBE biodegradability, 3) understand what research is being planned for the future and to identify potential opportunities for collaboration.
Numerous presentations are summarized in this report.
