VERIFYING THE VOC CONTROL PERFORMANCE OF BIOREACTORS

Citation:

Trenholm, A., L. G. Garner, AND T G. Brna*. VERIFYING THE VOC CONTROL PERFORMANCE OF BIOREACTORS. Presented at A&WMA 96th Annual Conference & Exhibition, San Diego, CA, 22-26 June 2003.

Description:

The paper describes the verification testing approach used to collect high-quality, peer-reviewed data on the performance of bioreaction-based technologies for the control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The verification protocol that describes the approach for these tests was developed under the auspices of the Air Pollution Control Technology Verification Center, an Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) center operated by Research Triangle Institute as part of EPA's ETV Program, by a technical panel of knowledgeable and interested stakeholders representing vendors, users, and regulators of control technologies. The protocol includes test design and quality assurance measures that insure the data gathered during the tests can withstand rigorous scrutiny. A case study for this approach is presented, and the detailed test planning is described.
