Description:
The purpose of this workshop was to review the current state-of-the-science for persistent organic pollutants and heavy metal compounds, especially additional developments since the conclusion of the negotiations of the Protocols on these compounds under the Convention on Long Range Transboundary air Pollution (LRTAP). These Protocols were structured to allow for the addition of new compounds. One of the purposes of this workshop was to review the evidence on specific compounds with a view toward identifying candidates which would qualify for adding to the Protocols.
