Description:

Organic tracers which partition to residual NAPL contamination have been used to estimate the mass of contamination in the swept zone of the tracer. This paper expands on this approach using the same data to estimate the heterogeneity of the flow domain and the heterogeneity of the NAPL within the flow domain and then uses this information to forecast the performance of a remedial flushing of contaminated soils.
