VanOsdell, D. W., J. R. Farmer, A. Trenholm, C. Clapsaddle, AND T G. Brna*. ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION: ADD-ON NOX CONTROLS. Presented at Council of Industrial Boiler Owners' NOx Control XII Conference, Durham, NC, 3/15-17/99.
Description:
The paper discusses the environmental technology verification (ETV) of add-on nitrogen oxide (NOx) controls. Research Triangle Institute (RTI) is EPA's cooperating partner for the Air Pollution Control Technology (APCT) Program, one of a dozen ETV pilot programs. Verification of add-on NOx controls is currently underway, with a technical panel of stakeholders formed and a generic verification protocol developed. The process of developing the verification protocol is described, its contents summarized, and the status and plans for selecting and testing technologies reviewed.
