Description:
The PRIMENet (Parks Research and Intensive Monitoring of Ecosystems Network) is a system of 14 national parks (Acadia, Smoky Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Glacier, Sequoia-Kings Canyon, and Olympic National Parks) established as index sites for long-term monitorins of environmental quality and use as outdoor laboratories. . . Workshop participants were asked to formulate a research program that would address issues of amphibian malformations and declines and the potential role of ultraviolet radiation. . . This work will also contribute to basic knowledge of amphibian distributions within national parks, amphibian metapopulation structure, UV levels in aquatic environments, and UV measurement technology.
