Description:

This report describes the technologies likely to be used for development of coal, oil shale, uranium, oil, natural gas, and geothermal resources in eight western states (Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming). Volume 1 describes the study, the technological activities such as exploration, extraction, and conversion for developing the resource, and laws and regulations which affect the development of more than one of the six resources considered in the study.
