Description:

The report is the executive summary for the preliminary design of the dual-alkali system, designed by Combustion Equipment Associates, Inc./Arthur D. Little, Inc. and being installed to control SO2 emissions from Louisville Gas and Electric Company's Cane Run Unit No. 6 boiler. The project consists of four phases: I--preliminary design and cost estimates; II--engineering design, construction, and mechanical testing; III--startup and performance testing; and IV--1 year operation and testing. Developed as part of Phase I, the executive summary presents salient facts and conclusions from the Phase I report for use by upper management and the general public.
