Description:

With the increasing reduction of nutrients for coastal eutrophication control, the importance of well defined nitrogen mass balance becomes paramount. imited number of attempts have been made to quantify inputs and outputs within major coastal ecosystems including its watersheds. resented in the paper is a review of the mass balance of the Chesapeake Bay by the EDF, URI/EPA, and Chesapeake Bay Program. he balance for the Upper Potomac Basin is also reviewed. he current Chesapeake Bay nitrogen data is incorporated into the approach used for the Upper Potomac Basin.
