ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ENVIROFACTS

Description:

Envirofacts is a database of environmental data being made available to the public by the U.S. EPA. Included in this database are data drawn from the following major EPA program systems: The Aerometric Information and Retrieval System/AIRS Facility Subsystem (AIRS/AFS); the Permit Compliance System (PCS); the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Information System (CERCLIS); the Toxic Release Inventory System (TRIS); and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Information System (RCRIS). Locational Reference Table (LRT) information has been incorporated into Envirofacts, which provides latitude and longitude coordinates for EPA-regulated facilities. In addition, the Facility Index System (FINDS) and the Envirofacts Master Chemical Integrator (EMCI) are included to provide data integration across the program systems. The Envirofacts database is hosted in the Oracle Relational Data Base Management System (RDBMS). Data can be extracted from the database in two different ways. Predetermined queries that portray typical user information requirements are available in the Envirofacts Information Guide. Custom queries may be created by users with software capable of accessing the Oracle RDBMS.
