Citation:

Johanson, R., J. Imhoff, H. Davis, AND Jr. USERS MANUAL FOR HYDROLOGICAL SIMULATION PROGRAM - FORTRAN (HSPF). U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/9-80/015.

Description:

The Hydrological Simulation Program--Fortran (HSPF) is a set of computer codes that can simulate the hydrologic, and associated water quality, processes on pervious and impervious land surfaces and in streams and well-mixed impoundments. The manual discusses the modular structure of the system, the principles of structured programming technology, and the use of these principles in the construction of the HSPF software. In addition to a pictorial representation of how each of the 500 subprograms fits into the system, the manual presents a detailed discussion of the algorithms used to simulate various water quality and quantity processes. Data useful to those who need to install, maintain, or alter the system or who wish to examine its structure in greater detail are also presented.
