Impact/Purpose:
The acquisition of property sales data is currently being driven by Agency economists. This presentation provides an opportunity to elevate the awareness of this dataset with a potential group of users. Buy-in for this data acquisition increases the chances of purchasing the data for multiple years and providing access to all of EPA.
Description:
To continue estimating hedonic property models, possibly expanding environmental justice analyses, and undertaking other analyses that use property characteristics, EPA is interested in acquiring national property transaction data as a replacement for Zillow’s ZTRAX data. ZTRAX was a national real estate database that included property sale records and real estate characteristics from many US counties, but access ended on September 30, 2023. In order to build interest and garner more buy-in at the Agency, this presentation will be for an audience of potential data users.
