Estimating Local-scale Impacts of Air Pollution Sources Using High Time Resolution Measurement Data. Air Quality Measurement Methods and Technology, Durham, NC, November 14 - 16, 2023.

Impact/Purpose:

This abstract is for a conference presentation that will provide an overview of data analysis approaches for quantifying the impact of air pollution sources at air monitoring site locations using applications conducted for different purposes as examples.

Description:

Three previously developed data analysis approaches for quantifying the impact of air pollution sources have been applied and refined using a range of pollutant data and time resolutions from air monitoring sites.  Examples of each data analysis approach will be presented, including applications to: a) determine air quality impacts at source-oriented monitoring locations and at EPA monitoring network sites, and b) identify monitoring site locations for capturing source impacts. Results will highlight the value of collecting or obtaining high time resolution wind speed and direction data for analyses of local-scale air pollution source impacts.
