Impact/Purpose:

This presentation is a high level summary of satellite technologies for water quality monitoring targeted toward environmental economists. We overview current and upcoming technologies in addition to providing economic value of information case studies.

Description:

Satellite technologies for water quality monitoring have made great advances in the last decade. An overview of satellite technical trade-offs are provided. We also cover the value of information and avoided cost frameworks using satellite data from the Cyanobacteria Assessment Network.
