Impact/Purpose:

Joint presentation by Great Lakes National Program Office Project Manager and ORD scientist on goals, restoration effectiveness objectives, and monitoring approaches at Great Lakes Areas of Concern sites.  This is a part of a series of presentations on Remediation to Restoration to Revitalization (R2R2R) projects and efforts to understand their effectiveness.

Description:

This webinar is the 2nd of a 3-part series on Remediation to Restoration to Revitalization (R2R2R), a collaborative program in which ORD, GLNPO and USGS are embedded in a number of large remediation and restoration sites within Areas of Concern (AOCs) to evaluate and understand the remedy effectiveness, restoration effectiveness and revitalization dimensions (i.e., how the community has changed and benefited following completion of the ecological restoration work) of a project. The focus of this webinar will be on Restoration Effectiveness Assessments and will be followed by an additional webinar on Dimensions of Revitalization on October 26, respectively. IERQC hosts monthly webinars in an effort to bring restoration practitioners together to present and discuss the innovations aimed at improving the quality of ecological restoration information. Presentations are approximately 45 minutes in length, followed by open discussion.
