Kapraun, D., P. Schlosser, T. Zurlinden, A. Jarabek, C. Brinkerhoff, AND J. Zhao. RATE Module HSR306 - Quantitative Methods and Models: Dosimetry Adjustments and Pharmacokinetic Concepts. Taiwan EPA RATE Presentations, NA, TAIWAN, PROVINCE OF CHINA, July 13 - 15, 2022.

Impact/Purpose:

This training presentation will be part of a Risk Assessment Training and Experience (RATE) series for the Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency. In this presentation the authors will provide an overview of quantitative methods and models used for dosimetry in chemical risk assessment.

Description:

The objective of this course is to provide an understanding of dosimetry methods applied in human health chemical risk assessments. The presentation will provide a brief discussion of dosimetry methods based on mechanistic models, but will emphasize default dosimetry methods that can be applied when such models are not available. This course draws heavily from established EPA guidance on this topic and includes demonstrations of how to apply default dosimetry models in various scenarios, including oral and inhalation exposure scenarios.
