Impact/Purpose:

This presentation will be given at the Toxicology Seminar Series at North Carolina State University in October 2022. The purpose is to present some of CCTE's efforts on miRNA biomarker development for chemical testing. This information will help establish relationships with local academics who might be working on other molecular biomarker development for tox purposes.

Description:

The outline of the presentation will start with scientific drivers of transcriptomics biomarker development; follow-up with previosuly published miRNA studies from our lab describing human biomarker development for fatty liver disease cause by environmental exposure and an in vivo liver model of short-term biomarker measurements predictive of liver cancer; description of current progress of in vitro miRNA biomarker development; and finish with conclusions.
