Mobile and sensor measurements to assess community impacts and mitigation strategies for transportation sources

Citation:

Baldauf, R. Mobile and sensor measurements to assess community impacts and mitigation strategies for transportation sources. EPA NAAMC Conference, Pittsburgh, PA, August 22 - 25, 2022.

Impact/Purpose:

Transportation sources significantly impact local and regional air quality.  Innovative measurement methods are needed to fully characterize these emissions impacts on air quality and exposures to understand the public health concerns and need for mitigation strategies.  This presentation reviews previous methods EPA has conducted mobile and sensor monitoring to characterize transportation impacts.  This presentation is intended for environmental and public health professionals.

Description:

Presentation summarizing mobile and sensor measurement techniques for characterizing transportation emissions impacts in the near-road environment.  The presenation summarizes methods and provides examples of how these measurements were used in research and policy applications.
