Release the CRACMM! Mechanism development to address multiple endpoints

Citation:

Pye, H. Release the CRACMM! Mechanism development to address multiple endpoints. Telluride Science Research Center Organic Particles in the Atmosphere: Formation, Properties, Processing, and Impact, Telluride, CO, July 18 - 22, 2022.

Impact/Purpose:

CRACMM is a new chemical mechanism being released for the first time in CMAQv5.4. CMAQ is used to connect emissions to secondary criteria pollutants and inform design of air quality management strategies.

Description:

CRACMM is a new mechanism for the prediction of ozone, secondary organic aerosol (SOA), and other endpoints being developed for use in CMAQ and other models. This work reviews recent lessons on the role of SOA and mortality and illustrates how radical and SOA chemistry can be tightly coupled.
