Energy Modeling Forum (EMF) Round 1 Dataset
Citation:

Impact/Purpose:
EPA/ORD/CEMM/AESMD/ESAB is participating in the Energy Modeling Forum (EMF). The EMF is composed of a number of modeling groups throughout the United States who come together to model representative scenarios of different questions within the U.S. energy system. The current EMF study is taking a look at pathways to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. EPA/OAR/OAP/CCD/CEB is leading this study. ESAB's participation is as one of the modeling times. We are utilizing the EPAUS9r TIMES, developed in our group, to run the prescribed scenarios.
Description:
This dataset represents the results from the modeling scenarios run during Round 1 of the EMF study on deep decarbonization. The EMF study includes over 10 modeling groups running a series of agreed upon scenarios to look at pathways to net-zero CO2 by 200. These results are from scenarios run using the EPAUS9r TIMES modeling platform. The dataset is uploaded to a IIASA website along with the results from the other modeling teams. EPA/OAR/OAP/CCD/CEB team members collate the data and develop visualizations for analysis by the EMF participants. Based on these Round 1 results, a set of updated model runs for Round 2 will be developed.
