Implementing Decentralization as Part of Climate Adaptive Water Systems

Impact/Purpose:

Relate current ORD research on climate adaptive water systems to researchers/practitioners in the wastewater field.

Description:

Defining the treatment necessary for safe nonpotable reuse of on-site collected wastewaters was identified by stakeholders as a key roadblock for greater adoption. Subsequent risk-based modeling research developed treatment guidance which has been translated into regulation in multiple states to advance this important reuse option.
