Implications of volatile chemical products (VCPs) for criteria pollutant formation

Citation:

Pye, H. Implications of volatile chemical products (VCPs) for criteria pollutant formation. ACE BOSC, Virtual, Virtual, October 12 - 14, 2021.

Impact/Purpose:

These slides will be presented to the ACE BOSC as part of "Meet the Scientist" allowing the BOSC to learn about emerging research results. This work combines emission inventory development with CMAQ modeling to understand the role of VCPs in air quality.

Description:

Volatile chemical product usage leads to emissions of organic compounds to ambient air. These compounds oxidize to form fine particle mass and ozone. Controlling organic compound emissions, from sources like VCPs, may be a particularly effective way of avoiding mortality in the future.
