Dodder, R. Package of materials for the 2021 update of "Generate: The Game of Energy Choices". Air Quality Workshop for Educators, NA, North Carolina, July 13 - 15, 2021.

Impact/Purpose:

An interactive board game developed by EPA scientists called Generate: The Game of Energy Choices enables players to explore energy choices and the environment and gets students “energized” in some friendly competition. The game is a teaching tool that can be used to understand the costs and benefits of the energy choices we make; find out what happens if the mix of energy sources changes in the future; and learn what energy choices mean for our climate, air, water, and overall environmental quality.  This package of materials is for educators to use the game in their own classroom in both in-person or virtual settings.

Description:

Generate: The Game of Energy Choices is an interactive game that allows students to explore energy choices and teaches the environmental considerations and costs in deciding what type of energy generation to build. This package contains all of the presentation and printable materials for Generate: presentation slides, game board, game pieces, instructor's guide, student score sheet, and spreadsheet for calculation of team scores.
