Impact/Purpose:

I will be presenting a seminar to the University of Minnesota Stormwater Series to undergraduate, graduate, and practicing stormwater professionals.

Description:

This presentation will cover a portion of green infrastructure during the past ten years at the USEPA and our future plans. USEPA has conducted water quantity and quality studies on permeable pavement and rain gardens at its in Edison, New Jersey, as well as investigations in Camden, NJ; Cincinnati, OH; Louisville, KY; Fort Riley, KS, and Fort Irwin, CA. USEPA’s Homeland Security research group conducts radioactive particle build-up and washoff studies in Research Triangle Park. The Stormwater Management Model (SWMM) Version 5 has been undergoing development for the past ten years, and notably now has model modules green infrastructure low impact development stormwater controls. USEPA is updating the historical weather files and calculation of extreme files for the Stormwater Calculator. USEPA would like to continue green infrastructure research in the next decade.
