This presentation is intended to give the NAS Standing Committee to Advise the Department of State on Unexplained Health Effects on US Government Employees and their Families at Overseas Embassies an overview of systematic and integrated review approaches to assessing evidence for consideration as a recommendation of this committee.
Description:
EPA/ORD has considerable expertise and capability in systematic and integrated assessment of evidence for the purpose of supporting regulatory decisions. The charge of the NAS Standing Committee to Advise the Department of State on Unexplained Health Effects on US Government Employees and their Families at Overseas Embassies is to review and assess data and information related to observed exposures and health effects. EPA/ORD's experience and expertise in this regard is of interest to the Standing Committee in that one of the Committee's recommendations may be to conduct such an assessment in support of their charge questions. Accordingly, the purpose of this presentation is to provide a high-level overview of what systematic and integrated science assessment entails. The presentation will include a demonstration of one of EPA's public tools, i.e. Tableau.com.
