Presentation, “Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER): Sampling and Analysis”, that will be delivered at the National Association of Remedial Project Managers (NARPM) Conference and Training, August 26-30, 2019, Chicago, IL. The NARPM conference is organized by the CERCLA Education Center and hosted by Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (both in OLEM). The purpose of this conference is to provide training to EPA remedial project managers (RPMs) on a variety of topics. This presentation will be part of a session entitled “The World of Poly- and Perfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)”.

Description:

The presentation describes a PFAS site characterization study that was conducted at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage, AK to evaluate the occurrence of PFAS. This characterization study is an Engineering Technical Support Center (ETSC) effort. The presentation discusses sample collection methods, PFAS analytical methods used, and observations at JBER. In addition, the presentation includes performance data for the PFAS analytical methods developed by the CRL, frequency of detection, and the ranges of concentrations observed. Also presented is information on sample heterogeneity and precursor occurrence during this study.
