Citation:

Johnson, K., B. Gantt, D. Garver, R. Brown, I. Vonwald, AND A. Clements. Evaluation of Purple Air Sensors Across the United States. 2019 American Association of Aerosol Research Annual Conference, Research Triangle Park, NC, October 14 - 18, 2019.

Impact/Purpose:

PurpleAir sensors are widely used low-cost particulate matter sensors. Previous research has evaluated these sensors by comparison to regulatory instruments in a few locales. This research looks at how this relationship differs across geographically diverse locations across the US. The goal is to establishing a uniform methodology for interpreting data from this sensor regardless of location making it easier for EPA and local partners to communicate information to, and interpret data from, the general public.

Description:

This abstract describes work to be presented at the AAAR Annual Conference in October 2019. The work will discuss the performance evaluation of PurpleAir sensors at various locations, variable time periods, and under a wide range of environmental conditions.
