Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this presentation is to provide some points to consider when selecting a commercially available low cost PM sensor for the purpose of monitoring smoke from wildfires. Low cost sensors have proliferated in the market, with many be advertised for use during smoke impacted times. This presentation discusses some of the points to consider about the ease of use and sensor performance when selecting a sensor. Some examples of sensors that have been evaluated for measuring wildfire smoke are also provided.

This presentation discusses some of the issues to consider when purchasing low cost PM sensors for wildfire smoke. Several example sensor packages that have been evaluated under wildfire smoke impacted conditions are provided.
