Impact/Purpose:
Coastal recreation is important socially and economically for many New England communities. Our work investigates the type and quantity of coastal recreation and impacts from changes in water quality.
Description:
The Rhode Island Department of Health is responsible for coordinating Rhode Island's state, town, and private beach managers to communicate monitoring protocols and beach use concerns. We will be presenting the work from multiple efforts to calculate recreational use of coastal waters and the impacts of that use by changes in water quality.
