Kingsbury Bay-Grassy Point Habitat Restoration: A Health Impact Assessment slides for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources public meeting
Williams, K. AND J. Hoffman. Kingsbury Bay-Grassy Point Habitat Restoration: A Health Impact Assessment slides for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources public meeting. MN Dept of Natural resources, Duluth, MN, May 21, 2019.
These slides provide a definition of HIA, list of pathways examined in the HIA, and description of the process.
Health Impact Assessments (HIA) are cooperative research projects where stakeholders and decision makers are actively involved in the process. The Mid-Continent Ecology Division conducted an HIA on a habitat restoration project in the St. Louis River. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) is now implementing the habitat construction and will be holding a public meeting. These slides are for the MNDNR to explain how the HIA was part of their effort to engage the community and other stakeholders.
