Impact/Purpose:

Presenting OTAQ overview slides at a Dept of State event to citizens and government officials in South Korea. Emissions from transportation sources significantly impact local and regional air quality in South Korea and the US. Exposures to these emissions can lead to serious adverse health effects. This presentation provides an overview of US policies and programs that reduce vehicle emissions as well as alternative mitigation strategies that can reduce exposures to these emissions. Implementation of these programs have helped the US achieve much improved air quality over the years, and implementation in Korea may have public health benefits over the short and long term. The presentation focuses on government policymakers, as well as academics and urban planners seeking methods to improve air quality in Korea.
