Dyson, B. AND T. Canfield. DASEES: Decision Analysis for a Sustainable Environment, Economy, and Society. EPA Region 7 and the State of Iowa Conference on support tool DASEES, Cincinnati, Ohio, November 16, 2018.
Impact/Purpose:
This is an introductory presentation of the ORD decision support tool DASEES (Decision Analysis for a Sustainable Environment, Economy, and Society) to prospective users in Region 7 and the State of Iowa. The aim is to provide and overview of the tool and past application to determine if it is suitable for agricultural wetland management.
Description:
DASEES is a web-based interactive tool for structured decision-making. It provides an environment where communities can build common understanding of complex problems then create and evaluate management alternatives through a multi-objective decision analysis. DASEES serves as an integrative framework for combined assessment of environmental, economic, and social aspects of a decision problem where there is uncertainty or risk. This is done with graphical modeling of causal probability networks.
