Citation:

Klise, K., R. Murray, AND T. Haxton. An Overview of the Water Network Tool for Resilience (WNTR). To be Presented at Computing and Control in the Water Industry, Ontario, Kingston, CANADA, July 23 - 25, 2018.

Impact/Purpose:

The Water Network Tool for Resilience (WNTR) is a new software package allowing for end-to-end evaluation of drinking water infrastructure resilience to natural disasters. This talk will introduce new users from around the world to the WNTR software, its capabilities, and resources to help get new users started. In addition, a series of case studies and examples will be presented. This tool is important for drinking water systems around the world who want to better understand how their water systems can withstand natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and power outages.

Description:

The Water Network Tool for Resilience (WNTR) is a new software package that integrates hydraulic and water quality simulation, a wide range of damage and response models, and resilience metrics into a single software framework, allowing for end-to-end evaluation of drinking water infrastructure resilience. This talk will include discussion on WNTR capabilities, water utility case studies, and resources to help get new users started using the software.
