Use of Putative Adverse Outcome Pathways for Chemical Hazard Identification.

Citation:

Wood, C. AND B. Chorley. Use of Putative Adverse Outcome Pathways for Chemical Hazard Identification. ORD BOSC, RTP, NC, November 16 - 18, 2016.

Impact/Purpose:

This abstract summarizes work for an FY17 key product in CSS 17.01 (AOPDD), to be presented as a poster at the ORD Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC) meeting in Nov 2016.

Description:

The Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) framework provides a knowledge infrastructure for evaluating health effects of environmental chemicals. In this work we are examining proof-of-concept issues in the development and prospective application of AOPs in chemical safety. Key outputs include tools for more rapid assembly of AOPs, predictive models for screening large chemical sets, and susceptibility biomarkers based on early events in AOPs.
