Impact/Purpose:

Presentation to graduate students the methods and tools for water system adaptation to hydrological changes

Description:

This course will introduce students to the fundamental principles of water system adaptation to hydrological changes, with emphasis on data analysis and interpretation, technical planning, and computational modeling. Starting with real-world scenarios and adaptation needs, the course employs a case-study approach to explore the efficacy of water system adaptation. Students will learn how to apply analytical frameworks as tools for screening and prioritizing adaptation strategies that can be translated into actionable technical plans. Students are expected to apply the principles developed in the course modules to complete hands-on exercises. Students will also design and complete a project that focuses on locally relevant adaptation options, policy analysis, a literature review, or investigation of research needs. The project may include compilation of data, modeling, and scoping of viable adaptation options for a specific scenario.
